Haida M10-II Drop-in Nano-coating CPL and ND1.8 Filter

The Haida Drop-In Neutral Density and Circular Polarizing Filter combines a solid neutral density effect with a circular polarizing effect. The filter is mounted in a drop-in assembly specifically designed for use between a separately available Haida M10 filter holder and an adapter ring for the filter holder. The external adjustment wheel of the filter ring allows independent rotation of the circular polarizing filter to adjust its intensity.
The 64x filter factor of this filter reduces exposure by 6 stops. The 1.8 density darkens the entire image, allowing you to shoot with a wider aperture or slower shutter speed than normally required.

By slowing down the exposure time or increasing the aperture, the depth of field can be better controlled and movements better represented. The filter also helps to reduce reflections and glare. This is achieved by filtering out light that has been polarized by reflection from a non-metallic surface. The light from the sun is partially polarized by the reflection of electrons in the air molecules, which leads to a scattering of the light that is perceived as haze. A polarization filter arranges and filters the polarized light perpendicular to the reflected light and thus enables the absorption of a large part of this light. This leads to a noticeable reduction in glare and reflections from non-metallic surfaces as well as an increase in the coloration of the sky and foliage.

In contrast to a linear polarizer, a circular polarizer has an additional quarter-wave plane that is used together with the linear polarization filter. The quarter-wave plane has the function of circularly polarizing the linearly polarized light so that the autofocus and exposure functions can be used. The use of a linear polarizer leads to a distortion of the autofocus and exposure accuracy. With circular polarized light, the aforementioned functions can be used.

The filter is made of optical glass to ensure high clarity and color fidelity. To avoid internal ghosting and reflections, each glass surface is coated with ten layers of anti-reflective coating. This protects the filter substrate better and keeps it clean for longer. The nano-coating of this Haida drop-in neutral density filter provides an additional layer that creates an improved beading effect when the surface comes into contact with water or oil. This enables more efficient cleaning.

  • Circular polarizing grey filter that can be used with the separately available Haida M10 and M10-II filter holder.
  • The neutral density filter 1.8 darkens the image and enables photography with a slower shutter speed or larger aperture than normally required.
  • With a 64x filter factor and an exposure reduction of 6 f-stops, this filter enables better control of the depth of field and a better representation of movement.
  • The polarizing filter effect arranges and filters polarized light perpendicular to the reflected light so that a large proportion of the light is absorbed.
  • Helps reduce reflections and glare by filtering out light that is polarized due to reflections from non-metallic surfaces
  • Clears haze in distant landscapes and provides richer, more vibrant colors.
  • Strongest polarization effect when used at a 90° angle to the sun
  • The circular polarizing effect is ideal for use with digital cameras and autofocus lenses, where a linear polarizer often interferes with automatic exposure and focus.
  • Made from optical glass for clarity and color fidelity
  • 10 anti-reflective layers on each glass surface and a nano-coating that provides an improved beading effect on contact with water or oil for more efficient cleaning
  • External adjustment wheel on the filter ring allows independent rotation of the filter to adjust its polarization effect when used with the Haida M10 or M10-II filter holder
  • Plastic filter case for storage and transportation

Manufacturer "Haida Filter"

The manufacturer Haida specializes in the production of high quality filters for various uses in photography. Haida filters are all made of optical glass. Haida produces filter holders as well as screw filters. The filter holders for plug-in filters are available in the width of 100 mm and 150 mm in our assortment. There are also matching Haida adapter rings in different sizes. Of course, Haid also manufactures ND and GND filters in various dimensions. The Haida ND filters are mainly used in landscape photography. When it comes to coating, the Haida company uses the NanoPro MC designation for multi-coated surfaces, with the NanoPro series being the most current version. Haida systems are available for all sizes of lenses from different manufacturers. The kit Haida M10 II system for 100 mm should not be missing on any photographer's wish list. Haida filters can be used especially well for shooting with water. Haida products do not need to be afraid of comparison with other products such as those from Lee. The ND or gray filters are available in different strengths. So that not too much time is lost in post-processing, the filters from Haid are color-neutral. With the Haida M10 series, you can make perfect long exposures. The corresponding 100 mm graduated filters can be mounted high or low in the filter holder. For ultra-wide angles, Haida also has a corresponding solution in its range, namely the M15 system. With a width of 150 mm, these filters cover a wider angle of view compared to the 100 mm. If such an ultra-wide angle is on your wish list, please be sure to note the Haida M15, there are various adapters for the most diverse combinations. Haida also has rear lens filters, these mount in the lens bayonet and are available in various strengths. Simply put, you can find the right filter for every application in Haida's range. Whether these are then used in the city or in the countryside, it does not matter. The products are also accompanied by brochures or manuals in English that give an overview of the entire range.
