Graduated filters or grey graduated filters for landscape photography

Graduated filters with a grey tint compensate for high levels of contrast in a subject directly when taking the photo. The grey part darkens brighter areas of the image, while the transparent part does not affect the other parts of the subject. With an ND filter, you ensure even exposure of the entire subject.

Which filters are used in landscape photography?

A combination of a 1.8 or 6 f-stop ND filter and a 0.9 or 3 f-stop graduated filter with a soft gradient is usually used.

Haida Soft Grad ND0.9 Filter Optical Glass Filter 100mm
Haida Gray Graduated Filter ND 0.9 Soft Degrees for 100mm Filter HolderGray graduated filter from the Haida 100mm system - can be used on almost any lensThe 100mm system is considered the standard system. It is equally suitable for SLR cameras but also for mirrorless cameras. With a compatible filter holder and the appropriate adapter rings, the filter can then be used on almost any of your lenses. You only need a matching adapter ring for each lens.A gray graduated filter is used to achieve an even exposure on subjects with strong differences in brightness.A gray graduated filter is divided into two zones, a clear zone and a neutral gray zone. The gray zone reduces the amount of light entering the lens. The clear zone allows light to pass through unobstructed. This allows the image to be evenly exposed. Example, sunset on a mountain range, the sky overexposed and the mountain dark. With the help of the gray filter zone, the lighter area of the image is darkened in order to then set the appropriate exposure for the darker area of the image. This allows the image to be correctly exposed over the entire image area. Available in different grayscales and with gradient boundaries of varying hardnessHaida gradient filters are available from us in a wide range of variants. There are different versions with different dark gray areas. Differentiated in the gray levels and in the gradients of these gray levels. Filters with hard gradients, i.e. with a very abrupt separation between the clear and the gray zone, are suitable for motifs with a clearly defined and straight horizon, e.g. sunset at the sea. Filters with soft gradients are suitable for motifs with a less clearly defined horizon. These are for example slightly hilly mountain landscapes or landscapes in general.Metal box for safe storage and transportationThe scope of delivery of the filters includes a metal box. This is perfect for transporting or storing the filter well protected. All advantages at a glance:Soft edge filter with soft gradientCompensates for differences in brightness in one shot (up to three f-stops)Ideal for landscape photographyHigh-quality optical glass with nano coatingAbsolute color neutralityRed-Diamond version, break resistance significantly increasedScratch-resistant multi-coating suppresses reflectionsRounded R5 edges for easier mountingSuitable for full-frame cameras and lenses from 16 millimeter focal length (APS-C from 11 millimeter)Also fits other 100m systems, such as 100mm Inc, Cokin Z, Lee Kasse, Loch, NiSi, Sioti, Formatt Hitech, B & W etc.Technical Details:Material: glassExtension factor: ND 0.9 / +3 stops / 8x (gray area)Gradient limit: soft / GNDCoating: coated Nano ProEdge lengths: 150 x 100 mmThickness: 2 mmScope of delivery:1 x Haida Pro Diamond 100*150mm soft gradient ND0.91 x transport boxIn case you are wondering How does the aperture reduction of ND filters pay off? Haida gray graduated filters are available from us in a wide range of variants. There are different Ausführungen with different dark gray areas. Differentiated in the gray levels and in the Verläufen thisers gray levels. Filters with hard gradients, i.e. with a very abrupt separation between the clear and the gray zone, are suitable for motifs with a clearly defined and straight horizon, e.g. sunset at the sea. Filters with soft gradients are suitable for subjects with a less clearly defined horizon. These are, for example, slightly hügelige mountain landscapes or landscapes in general.Metal box für a safe storage and transportation. The scope of delivery of the filter includes a metal box. This is perfect to transport or store the filter well protected. All advantages at a glance: Hard edge filter with hard gradient Compensates for differences in brightness in a shot (up to two stops). Ideal for landscape photography High-quality optical glass with Nano Vergütung Absolute color neutrality Red-Diamond version, break resistance significantly increased Scratch-resistant multiple coating suppresses reflections Rounded R5 edges für easier mounting Suitable for full-frame cameras and lenses from 16 millimeters focal length (APS-C from 11 millimeters) Also fits für other 100m systems, such as 100mm Inc, Cokin Z, Lee Kasse, Loch, NiSi, Sioti, Formatt Hitech, B & W etc.Technical details: Material: glass Prolongation factor: ND 0.6 / +2 stops / 4x (gray area) Gradient limit: hard Vergütung: vergütet Nano Pro Edge length: 150 x 100 mm Thickness: 2 mmScope of delivery: 1 x Haida Pro Diamond 100*150mm hard gradient ND 0.6 1 x transport boxThe aperture reduction of ND filters is calculated as follows:The density of ND filters is usually given in increments of 0.3. Graduated Filter Plug-in Filter Set hard gradient 100x150
Haida Red-Diamond Hard Grad. ND Kit, 100x150mm 0.6 0.9 1.2
Graduated Filter Plug-in Filter Set hard gradient 100x150 The newest Haida line, the Red Diamond filters, promises all the benefits of the Nanopro filters and was designed to be the härdest filter line in Haida's current lineup. The Red Diamond filters feature a shock and scratch resistant design, making them ideal for the tough challenges of outdoor landscape photography.Haida Red Diamond filters feature an ultra-thin nano-multicoating coating that maintains excellent image definition while delivering true colors without color cast. The Red Diamond series is twice as strong as a normal glass filter, which presents a low risk of accidental breakage. With a waterproof, öl and fingerprint resistant Nanopro coated surface, this filter is easy to clean and ideal for use in harsh environments due to its scratch resistance. Quality and convenience combine with the R5 round corner design, which makes insertion into the filter holder much easier.A Medium Neutral Density grade is used to filter the sky with minimal impact on the land. Ideal when elements such as dächer and mountains protrude into the sky and balance exposure throughout the image. These filters are rectangular shaped to provide more flexibility to move the filter up or down within the holder to precisely position the graduation line for ultimate control.Haida filters come in a protective metal housing and are 2mm thick, making them compatible with many of the most popular 100mm filter holders available today, including the Haida 100mm 100-Pro filter holder and the Lee FK Foundation filter holder.Scope of delivery: 1 x Red-Diamond filter hard gradient 0.6 1 x Red-Diamond filter hard gradient 0.9 1 x Red-Diamond filter hard gradient 1.2<?xml:namespace prefix ="o" ns ="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

Haida Graduated Gray Filter ND 0.9 hard gradient
Haida Graduated Gray Filter ND 0.9 hard gradient for 150mm filter holder
Haida gray graduated filter ND 0.9 hard gradient to 150mm filter holderGray graduated filter for the Haida 150mm system - can be used on almost any lens. The M15mm system is considered the standard system for plug-in filters in the ultra-wide angle range. It is equally suitable for SLR cameras but also for mirrorless cameras. With a compatible filter holder and the matching adapter ring, the filter can then be used on almost any of your lens. It just needs für each lens a matching adapter ring.To achieve an even exposure on subjects with strong differences in brightness (e.g. land - sky), a gray graduated filter is used.A gray graduated filter is constructed into two areas, a clear zone and a neutral gray zone. The gray zone reduces the amount of light entering the lens. The clear zone allows light to pass through unobstructed. This makes it possible to expose the image evenly. Example: Sunset on a mountain range, the sky is very bright and the mountain dark. The gray filter zone is used to darken the brighter part of the image and then set the appropriate exposure for the darker part of the image. This ensures that the image is correctly exposed over the entire image area.Available in different shades of gray and with different hard gradient boundaries.
