The Astro Edition adapters are designed specifically for astrophotographers and feature an extension tube for focusing with some telescopes that have trouble moving the focus far enough out. The extension tube is removable and includes a standard T-mount adapter for telescopes that focus close enough to the mirror or have a Barlow lens, or if you want to use T-mount lenses and accessories during the day.

It seems counterintuitive to use old lenses on main, high-performance DSLR or mirrorless cameras. The simple answer is that many older lenses are capable of capturing images with that elusive quality known as character. For photographers or videographers who want to create unique images that express their personal style, character can be even more important than resolution numbers, sharpness into the corners and other advantages of the near-perfect lenses available today.

The imperfections and aberrations of older lenses are precisely the strengths that distinguish them from modern lenses. In addition, fully mechanical lenses can probably be repaired longer and more cheaply than modern focus-by-wire lenses. With older lenses, the camera system can also be changed, or the mount can be retired, and the lenses are not bricked up. In extreme cases, some mirrorless lenses require firmware updates for each new body, so even if the mount stays around, the lenses won't stay on the update list forever
