When Markus rediscovered photography as a hobby in 2006, he quickly realized that it was much cheaper to order the accessories for his camera from China. And in no time at all, a business idea was born. He wanted to offer this opportunity to other Swiss photographers. He sold a gold coin and used this small amount of capital to start importing goods from China.

Markus sold these accessories via Ricardo and slowly started running his own webshop. The basement became his warehouse and, over time, more and more customers came to his living room and he started looking for proper business premises. A small hobby now became Fotichaestli.

Because he was so hard-working, the business grew more and more and his partner had to join as the first team member.

Fotichaestli AG has now been around for over 10 years and is well established on the Swiss market. The team, which now consists of five people, ensures that orders are dispatched smoothly every day. It is important to Markus that he only sells what is actually in stock. As an additional service, he opens his store every 2nd Saturday to advise customers in person.
