The Godox ML100Bi fills exactly that gap: 120 watts of bi-color light in the size of a coffee cup, which you can mount on the tripod that’s already set up. What’s included

Light, protective cap, 15° reflector, AD-E2 umbrella adapter, power adapter, and cable. You’ll be ready to light your scene right away and can use umbrellas too. What’s not included: a tripod and a bag—which you’ve probably had sitting in your closet for ages.

What’s Not Included

No second reflector, no tripod, no carrying case, no battery grip. If you’re hesitating about any of these, read the last section: One of the two kits will be the more cost-effective option.

Here’s what it looks like in everyday use

Second light in your existing setup

As a kicker or hair light next to your main light: You set the color temperature exactly to match what’s already there, and with a CRI of 97, nothing clashes. You can mount it on any tripod using the included head adapter.

Interview in mixed lighting

2800 to 6500K continuously adjustable: You match the light that’s already there instead of fighting it. No color cast that you’ll have to correct in Lightroom later. Dimming ranges from 0 to 100 percent.

Portrait against the sun

With the 15° reflector, you get 34,300 lux at one meter. That’s enough to cleanly isolate a face against daylight. Eleven lighting effects—from fire to TV—are included for on-board film scenes.

What you should know before ordering

Need a tripod, bag, or a second reflector?

Then check out the Kit1. It includes 15° and 36° reflectors, a tripod, the umbrella tilt, and a carrying case. Ordering these items separately rarely works out cheaper.

Do you need battery power?

The light also runs on a battery, but a handle isn’t included here. Either get the Kit2 with V-Mount handle, or you can retrofit the BG02 handle with a built-in 95-Wh battery.

Bi-Color or RGB?

If you want color effects, check out the ML100R, which ranges from 1,800 to 10,000K and offers full RGB. That comes at the cost of color accuracy: CRI 95 instead of the 97 here. For interviews and portraits, Bi-Color is the cleaner choice.
