The RF-603 is a transceiver system, which means that both devices are transmitter and receiver at the same time and the function is recognized depending on the application. Both transceivers offer the function to trigger flashes unleashed. They can also be used as cable and radio remote triggers for cameras. With these possibilities the RF-603 offers an enormous range of functions at a low price.
Flash Trigger

The RF-603 enables wireless, unleashed triggering of clip-on and studio flashes even from a great distance. For attachable flashes, the transceivers have a flash shoe to insert the flash. The second transceiver is pushed into the hot shoe. On the transceiver plugged on the camera another flash can be plugged on and triggered. (Studio) flash units with 6.3mm or 3.5mm jack socket can be connected to the transceiver with an optionally available trigger cable.
Camera shutter release

With the RF-603 wireless shutter release and the supplied release cable, cameras can be released even from a great distance. To do this, connect one of the transceivers to the camera with the cable while releasing the camera with the release button of the second one. Alternatively, the transceiver connected by cable can be used directly as a remote cable release.

Under optimal conditions the shutter release has a range of up to 100m. The release button has two pressure points. At the first pressure point the camera focuses, at the second one it releases. Long time exposures and serial pictures are possible. However, the corresponding settings on the camera must be made for this.

On cameras where the video function is controlled by the photo release button, video recordings can also be started and stopped with this release.
Synchronous remote triggering of camera and flash

To trigger the camera and the flash synchronously, you plug the transceiver, which is connected to the camera via cable, onto the camera's hot shoe and equip it with a flash on top. This set can be triggered via the second transceiver.

With an optionally available transceiver, both the camera and the unleashed flash can be triggered synchronously.

Note:

The RF-603 wireless trigger does not transmit TTL data. All camera and flash settings must be made manually. With a suitable flash adapter, the RF-603 can also be used with most cameras of other brands. The RF-603 is not compatible with the RF-602.
