Godox AK-R1 Light Shaper Set for Round-Head Flashes

The flash is mounted on the camera, the light is harsh and flat, and you want it to be softer, more focused, or warmer. Buying a separate accessory for each of these tasks quickly becomes confusing, and when in doubt, you end up with exactly the wrong one in your bag. The AK-R1 combines nine light modifiers in one set, all of which attach to the same magnetic round head. Just clip it on, twist it into place, and keep shooting.

One set instead of nine individual parts

Magnetic attachment instead of screws

The light modifiers attach directly to the round flash head. You simply remove the snoot and attach the diffuser dome without having to unscrew or retighten anything. That might sound like a minor detail, but it makes all the difference between whether you switch accessories during a photo shoot or leave them as is.

Focus or spread the light

The snoot, honeycomb grid, and four-way barn door narrow the beam when you want to light only the face or a specific detail. The diffuser dome, wide-angle lens, and bounce card work in the opposite way, spreading the light throughout the room. Both options are included in the same set—you decide which to use once you’re on location.

Here’s what it looks like in everyday use

Portrait in a bright environment

The ambient light is right, but the face lacks definition. With the honeycomb grid, you can direct a narrow beam of light precisely onto the face without brightening the wall behind it. The background remains exactly as you measured it.

Wedding in Mixed Lighting

The hall is bathed in warm artificial light, your flash is neutral, and the faces take on a blue cast. With one of the three color filters, you can match the flash to the color of the room lighting, and the white balance will be correct for the entire image again. The green filter does the same under fluorescent lights.

What You Should Know Before You Order

For Round Flash Heads Only

The set attaches magnetically to a round flash head. If your flash has a square head, you’ll also need the S-R1 Round Head Adapter, which adds a magnetic round head. The adapter is not included in the set and must be purchased separately; you can find it in the flash accessories. If you’re unsure which head your flash has, give us a call—we’ll figure it out in two minutes.

Color filters beyond the four included sheets

The set includes three warm-tone filters and one green filter—exactly what you need for mixed lighting. If you want to create color effects rather than correct them, you’ll need a separate set of Godox color filters.
