Godox BDR-S55 Beauty Dish Set for Beauty and Fashion
The Godox BDR-S55 Pro Beauty Dish Set consists of the BDR-S55 Beauty Dish reflector, the corresponding honeycomb attachment and an external diffuser and is ideal for professional productions in the beauty, portrait and fashion sector.
The light from the reflector is a mixture of a standard reflector and softbox, not as soft as a softbox and not as hard as a standard reflector. The reflections in the eyes (catchlights) of a photographed person created by the light shaper look natural and pleasant.
Light with special properties
The light emitted by the light source first hits the deflector. This flat metal disk throws it onto the silver inner surface of the beauty dish, which reflects it extremely softly. The special design produces light that is more concentrated on the center (with correspondingly harder shadows), which illuminates a small area more strongly. Towards the edges, the light softens gently.
Honeycomb attachment directs the light
The included Godox honeycomb attachment further enhances this effect. The stable grid made of metal reduces the amount of stray light and directs the light intensively into the center, while the peripheral areas darken. With the honeycomb you have more control over the light and the light setting is much easier.
External diffuser reduces reflections
The external diffuser included in the scope of delivery diffuses the light even further, enlarges the light reflections in the eyes of a photographed person with the expanded light area and reduces reflections in the subject.
Via the Bowens S-type bayonet, the Beauty Dish fits many battery/studio flash units or continuous lights (Godox / Bowens / Jinbei / Walimex flashes) or continuous lights with the appropriate connection.
