The Godox BDR-S550 is the large beauty dish for portrait, fashion and beauty photography. 50 cm diameter, silver interior-specular light with broader falloff. Fits SK300, SK400, MS200, MS300 (Bowens) and AD400pro (with adapter). The larger surface makes it the standard size for beauty and fashion-wider and more specular than the 40cm (BDR-S420).

50 cm-the pro choice
The BDR-S550 is the beauty dish that sits in studios. 50 cm diameter is the sweet spot-large enough for broad, soft light, but not as massive as a softbox. Portraits, beauty sessions, fashion-this is the size designers pick when they want beauty dish aesthetics.
Silver over white
Silver interior reflects specularly-meaning higher contrast, more shine, warmer skin rendering. Perfect for makeup shots, beauty portraits and fashion where you need drama and warmth. The white variant (BDR-W550) is softer and flatter-the opposite.
50 cm for standard studios
The 40cm (BDR-S420) is more compact, better for tight spaces. The 50 needs more room but delivers broader light and more classic beauty dish feel. This is the size most studios use.
Grid separate-for spot control
Add the BDR-C550 honeycomb grid to tighten light. But even without grid, the 50 delivers that signature beauty dish falloff.

Ich war an einem Portraitkurs mit diversen Lichtformern - mit dem Beauty Dish sind so tolle Fotos entstanden, dass ich mir auch einen zulegen wollte. Underdessen bin ich im Besitz dieses Teils und hab es bereits draussen ausprobiert u.a. für Gruppenfotos mit spannend ausgeleuchtem Hintergrund. Ich bin begeistert! Gibt gutes Licht und starke Konturen. Etwas unhandlich zum Transportieren / Verstauen.

Godox BDR-S550 Beauty Dish 50cm Reflektor innen Silber
Die Beauty Dish landete mehr aus einem "damit will ich irgendwann mal spielen" im Warenkorb und mauserte sich sofort zu meinem Lieblingsformer. Noch weiss ich nicht, wo ich das Ding verstaue, die Schachtel ist gross. Richtig gross :-) Das Licht liegt zwischen den langweiligen (aber einfach zu beherrschenden) Softboxen und einem reinen Reflektor, ergibt akzentuierte Strukturen ohne gleich ins pure Scheinwerferlicht abzugleiten. Pur eignet sich die Dish für Ganzkörperbilder, mit Wabe für Kopfbilder. Je nach Wunsch nach "Charakter" (Kantigkeit) hilft ein Reflektor gegen die Schatten.
