Striplights aren't for full-body coverage. They're for specialized jobs: hair light (from above), backlight (from behind), rim effects (from side). The long surface gives you control over a narrow area. Perfect for multi-light studios where you build layers.

Hair-light classic

A striplight above the head is the classic hair-light setup. Light grazes hair, creates shine and volume. And because SB-FW-30-120 is narrow, it lights only the hair, not the whole face.

Cinema rim–backlight

Film and TV use striplights for rim and backlight. You place a striplight behind and to the side of the subject–creates separation, depth, drama. This is the pro technique.

Grid included–ready for focus

All SB-FW softboxes ship with grid in the box. The honeycomb focuses the striplight even tighter–precise control over light spillage.
