Two umbrellas in one: the Godox UB-006 is a versatile dual-duty umbrella with an approx. 101 cm diameter. As a reflective umbrella with a black/silver cover it bounces the flash back with maximum output while softening it. Remove the cover and it becomes a translucent shoot-through umbrella for even softer, diffused light – ideal for portrait and product photography.

One umbrella, two lighting characters
Reflective with a silver interior
With the black/silver cover on, you fire into the umbrella and bounce the light back onto your subject. This gives soft but high-output light with a touch more contrast and punch – the black outer side prevents light loss out the back.
Shoot-through without the cover
Remove the outer cover and fire through the white umbrella: the light spreads over a large area and turns especially soft – lovely for gentle portraits and even, wrapping illumination.
How this works in practice
Portrait and product
As a reflective umbrella you set targeted accents and model faces; as a shoot-through you lay a soft, even light across your subject. So a single modifier covers two typical lighting moods.
What you should know before you order
A simple modifier
The UB-006 is an affordable basic umbrella without add-on diffuser parts. For more directional, controlled light, softboxes or umbrella-softbox hybrids are the alternative.
Umbrella holder needed
The umbrella mounts via its shaft into flash/studio-light umbrella holders. A suitable umbrella holder or tilt bracket with umbrella slot is not included.
