The magnetic adapter ring is already on your lens and you are missing a 6-stop neutral density filter? That is exactly what the Haida NanoPro Magnetic ND 1.8 in 67mm is for. It snaps on magnetically in a second and lengthens your exposure time by a factor of 64. Please note: this filter ships without an adapter ring. If you do not own one yet, you need to order the ring separately.
- ND 1.8 (64x): cuts light by 6 stops
- Magnetic mount: snap on instead of screwing in
- Glass just 0.8mm thin, stackable with other Haida magnetic filters
- Fits smaller threads via magnetic step-up ring
- Supplied without magnetic adapter ring
Longer exposures without touching the filter thread
Six stops for water, clouds and wide apertures
1/60 s becomes roughly 1 s, 1/4 s becomes 16 s. That is enough to smooth a stream or waterfall, calm waves or show clouds in motion. In bright sun it also lets you shoot or film wide open without running out of shutter speed.
Swap filters in a second
The filter snaps onto the ring and comes off just as quickly. No cross-threading, no fiddling with cold fingers. It is a real help when setting up: frame and focus while the viewfinder is still bright, then add the ND filter afterwards.
Thin glass, tough coating
The glass is only 0.8mm thick, so the filter sits very flat. The NanoPro coating is scratch resistant and repels water and oil. Spray from a waterfall or a fingerprint wipes off quickly with a microfibre cloth.
Works on smaller lenses too
With a Haida magnetic step-up ring, the 67mm filter also fits lenses with a smaller filter thread, such as 62mm. The step-up ring doubles as the adapter ring, so that lens needs no second ring.
What this looks like in practice
At a mountain stream in changing light
The camera is on the tripod and the adapter ring is on the lens. You compose without a filter, focus on the rock in the foreground and snap on the ND 1.8. At f/11 and ISO 100 you end up at one to two seconds: the water turns soft but keeps its texture. When the sun comes out from behind a cloud, you swap to a stronger filter in a second or take it off altogether.
What you should know before ordering
The adapter ring is not included
The filter has no screw thread and cannot be mounted directly on a lens. You need either the Haida magnetic adapter ring in 67mm or a magnetic step-up ring to 67mm. If you already own a Haida magnetic filter with ring, you have everything you need.
The magnet holds, but not against hard knocks
In normal use the filter sits securely. A solid bump against the lens can dislodge it, though. Keep that in mind over water, on a bridge or in a crowd.
6 stops are not enough for every long exposure
For exposures of half a minute or more in bright daylight this filter is too weak. That is a job for the magnetic 10-stop ND filter. The two can be stacked, but with every extra filter the risk of darkened corners on wide-angle lenses increases.

The manufacturer Haida specializes in the production of high quality filters for various uses in photography. Haida filters are all made of optical glass. Haida produces filter holders as well as screw filters. The filter holders for plug-in filters are available in the width of 100 mm and 150 mm in our assortment. There are also matching Haida adapter rings in different sizes. Of course, Haid also manufactures ND and GND filters in various dimensions. The Haida ND filters are mainly used in landscape photography. When it comes to coating, the Haida company uses the NanoPro MC designation for multi-coated surfaces, with the NanoPro series being the most current version. Haida systems are available for all sizes of lenses from different manufacturers. The kit Haida M10 II system for 100 mm should not be missing on any photographer's wish list. Haida filters can be used especially well for shooting with water. Haida products do not need to be afraid of comparison with other products such as those from Lee. The ND or gray filters are available in different strengths. So that not too much time is lost in post-processing, the filters from Haid are color-neutral. With the Haida M10 series, you can make perfect long exposures. The corresponding 100 mm graduated filters can be mounted high or low in the filter holder. For ultra-wide angles, Haida also has a corresponding solution in its range, namely the M15 system. With a width of 150 mm, these filters cover a wider angle of view compared to the 100 mm. If such an ultra-wide angle is on your wish list, please be sure to note the Haida M15, there are various adapters for the most diverse combinations. Haida also has rear lens filters, these mount in the lens bayonet and are available in various strengths. Simply put, you can find the right filter for every application in Haida's range. Whether these are then used in the city or in the countryside, it does not matter. The products are also accompanied by brochures or manuals in English that give an overview of the entire range.
