Move to Sony without dropping your lens kit

You've shot Canon glass for years and want to switch the body to Sony. Instead of replacing every lens at once, you adapt them and keep working — then swap over gradually when it suits you. For video you set the adapter to CDAF; for stills on a current Sony you'll often use PDAF (see below).

What you should know before you order

Autofocus depends heavily on the combination

How well and how fast autofocus works depends on the adapter, camera model, lens and firmware version — anything from "snappy and accurate" to "slow and hunting" is possible. That's what the CDAF/PDAF switch is for: PDAF (phase detection) is usually faster for stills on newer Sony bodies and can enable eye-AF, but often doesn't work cleanly on very old models. CDAF (contrast detection) is smoother and the better choice for video. After flipping the switch, detach and remount the adapter once. So don't count on it for fast action, and expect that not every lens/camera pairing will perform equally well.

For Sony E-mount cameras only

This adapter is made exclusively for Sony cameras with an E-mount (e.g. Alpha 7 series, Alpha 6000 series). It may fit mechanically onto other devices that use the E-mount, but it isn't designed for them — the electronic connection and autofocus won't work there. Please use it only on Sony E-mount system cameras.

Genuine Canon lenses only

The adapter is tuned for original Canon lenses (EF/EF-S). Third-party lenses with a Canon EF mount (e.g. Sigma, Tamron or budget brands) are not supported — you may get faulty autofocus, incorrect aperture control or no function at all. Please use genuine Canon lenses only.
