This adapter is used to use Canon RD lenses on a Canon RF camera. This makes this adapter a perfect tool for you as a system switch, you can continue to use your old Canon FD lenses on your new Canon RF camera. The adapter fits all cameras with a Canon RF mount.

Manual focus and manual aperture selection

Canon FD lenses have a different flange focal distance than a RF camera. This adapter compensates for this. There is no autofocus because the adapter does not establish an electronic connection between an RF camera and an FD lens. For this reason, focus must be adjusted manually on the lens. The same applies to the aperture.

Adapted FD lenses can be used in the camera modes M, aperture priority and video

FD lenses adapted to RF cameras can be used in M and Aperture priority modes. In M mode, you select the exposure time yourself. This is set with the corresponding dial on the camera. In aperture priority mode, the camera selects the appropriate exposure time. Finally, you only have to release the shutter. In addition, adapted FD lenses can also be used in video mode.
