Designed specifically for astrophotographers, the Astro Edition adapters include an extension tube for focusing with some telescopes that may have problems adjusting the focus far enough out. The extension tube is removable and reveals a standard T-mount adapter for telescopes that focus close enough to the mirror or have a Barlow lens installed, or if you want to use T-mount lenses and accessories during the day.

Versatile, reliable, adaptable

It seems counterintuitive to put old lenses on Hau, high-performance DSLR or mirrorless cameras, so why would you want to do that? The simple answer is that many older lenses can capture images with that elusive quality called character. For photographers or videographers who want to create unique images that express their personal style, character can be even more important than resolution ratios, corner-to-corner sharpness and other advantages of the near-perfect lenses that are common today.

The imperfections and flaws of older lenses are exactly the strengths that distinguish them from modern lenses. In addition, a fully mechanical lens can probably be repaired longer and at lower cost than modern focus-by-wire lenses. With old lenses you can also change the camera system, or your mount can be retired and your lenses will not be walled up. In extreme cases, some mirrorless lenses require firmware updates for each new housing, so even if the mount stays around, the lenses will not stay on this update list forever (e.g. Nikon's new E-lenses are not compatible with cameras that are only two generations old).
