Tame harsh highlights
The box enlarges the light surface in front of the MA2 and thereby softens the light. Glossy reflections on insect shells, flowers or metal are tamed and the transitions between light and shadow become smoother.
Matched to the MA2 system
Instead of improvising you use a purpose-built solution: the MA02-DB is designed for the MA2 and completes it into a full macro lighting setup.

Real-world scenario
A product macro of a watch: without diffusion the light source mirrors in the polished case. With the MA02-DB in front of the MA2 the light becomes broad and soft – the reflections disappear while texture and detail stay cleanly visible.

The MA2 is required
The diffuser box is an accessory for the Godox MA2 Flexible Macro Twin Light and only works together with it – the MA2 is sold separately and not included.
Diffusion costs light
Like any diffuser, the box reduces some output; adjust the MA2's brightness or flash power accordingly if needed.
Other diffusion options
The MA2 also comes with a magnetic diffuser (MA02-D) plus further accessories; the MA02-DB is the large box-style option.
