Notice:
This gray filter usually does not interfere with the automatic exposure metering of the camera. It can therefore be used in all automatic modes (e.g. P, Av, Tv). With some cameras, however, it may be necessary to cover the viewfinder so that the exposure metering is not distorted by incident light. Further, with filters of 3 f-stops or more, it is no longer possible to see on the camera screen. For this reason, focusing and image cropping would have to be done beforehand.
Due to the slim design, the lens cap does not sit as snugly as without a filter and can therefore fall off more quickly.
The aperture reduction of ND filters is calculated as follows:
The density of ND filters is usually given in steps of 0.3.
To get the aperture reduction, first multiply the value by 10 and then divide it by 3.
0.3 x 10 = 3 | 3 = 1 f-stop
0.9 x 10 = 9 | 3 = 3 f-stops
0.6 x 10 = 6 | 3 = 2 f-stops
1.2 x 10 = 12 | 3 = 4 f-stops
1.8 x 10 = 18 | 3 = 6 f-stops
3.0 x 10 = 30 | 3 = 10 f-stops
3.6 x 10 = 36 | 3 = 12 f-stops
4.5 x 10 = 45 | 3 = 15 f-stops

Empfehlenswert
