Worn on the hip, not around the neck

Draw or lock

In Quick-Draw mode, you pull the camera out of the holster in one smooth motion—this is the mode for the workday. In Auto-Lock mode, the pin locks automatically when inserted and can only be released using the lever. Use this mode when you’re bending over, navigating through a crowd, or getting into a car.

For left- and right-handed users

The locking lever can be switched from one side to the other; the necessary Allen wrench is stored in the holster itself. This means you can wear the camera on the side you naturally reach for it, so you don’t have to get used to using your non-dominant hand.

The camera remains fully operable

The plate releases the battery door, so you can access the battery and memory card without unscrewing it. The system works the same way with or without a battery grip, and protective cases on the body don’t get in the way.

Between the tripod and your hand

The camera plate is Arca-compatible. You can mount the camera directly onto the tripod head and then back into the holster without unscrewing anything. For long telephoto lenses, instead, you screw the SpiderPro Lens Collar Plate v3 onto the lens collar.

What You Should Know Before Ordering

A belt is not included

This is the most important point about this set. You’ll receive the holster with a suspension clip, the camera plate, and the Allen wrench. The clip attaches to a standard belt that you provide yourself. If you want the complete system with the padded SpiderPro belt, choose the SpiderPro Single Camera Carrying System v3. This set is a good choice if you already have the belt or specifically want to use your own.

Not compatible with v2

The v3 generation is not mechanically compatible with older Spider v2 parts. If you’re still using v2 plates or v2 holsters, you can’t mix them and will need the v3 plates, such as the SpiderPro Plate v3 for the second camera.

The camera sticks out to the side

The camera needs space at your hip. In narrow hallways and in crowds, you’re more likely to bump into things with it than with a strap across your chest, and a backpack hip belt sits right where the clip is located. If you’re often on the go with a backpack, you’re better off with the Spider X Backpacker Kit v3.
