Real flash for your iPhone: the Godox A2 is a magnetic xenon flash that simply attaches to the back of your iPhone and is controlled via the Godox Camera app or the buttons on the housing. A bi-colour LED ring around the flash tube gives you continuous light for video too. How this works in practice Control via app and buttons In A mode the Godox Camera app handles exposure automatically, with three flash effects (Natural, Even, Contrast). In M mode you set shutter speed, ISO and white balance yourself and choose TTL or manual power (1/1–1/128 in 1/3 steps, exposure compensation -3 to +3). Pairing is via NFC, then the connection runs over Bluetooth up to 15 m – even when the flash is away from the phone. Magnetically mounted, flexibly shaped The A2 sticks magnetically to the back of your iPhone, to metal or to a stand – so light can come from the side or above. The magnetic ring on the front takes the included dome diffuser or the modifiers from the Godox AK-R1 MINI Accessory Kit. With the optional PS01 phone mount, which rotates 360°, switching to selfies is easy. Shape the light instead of just firing it: the Godox AK-R1 MINI lets you put the light from your Godox A2 exactly where you want it. The set contains eight modifiers that snap magnetically onto the front of the flash – from a snoot for a spotlight effect to a CTO gel for warmer light. The parts can also be combined. 8 magnetic modifiers that snap onto the front of the A2 and can be combined Snoot, barn doors and honeycomb grid for directed light with little spill Diffuser plate and magnetic diffuser for softer light, bounce card for indirect flash 1/2 CTO and 1/1 CTO gels for warmer flash light Eight modifiers for the A2 Directed: snoot, barn doors, grid The snoot, barn doors and honeycomb grid make the light narrower and harder. That lets you pick out a dish or a portrait without lighting up the background. Soft and warm: diffusers, bounce, CTO The diffuser plate, magnetic diffuser and bounce card do the opposite and make the A2's light softer and less direct. The 1/2 CTO warms the flash slightly, while the 1/1 CTO brings it to the colour of tungsten light – handy for matching existing ambient light. How this works in practice Combinable and quick to swap You can use several parts at once, such as a CTO gel behind the honeycomb grid with the barn doors around it. As everything holds magnetically, you swap modifiers in seconds. What you should know before you order For the Godox A2 only The set is made for the magnetic ring on the front of the Godox Smartphone Xenon Flash A2 and fits every colour version of that flash. The A2 itself is not included. Use the A2 off the phone with modifiers When you work with the modifiers, Godox recommends using the A2 away from the phone (e.g. magnetically on a surface or with the PS01 mount).
