Real flash for your iPhone: the Godox A2 is a magnetic xenon flash that simply attaches to the back of your iPhone and is controlled via the Godox Camera app or the buttons on the housing. A bi-colour LED ring around the flash tube gives you continuous light for video too. In a fraction of a second the xenon flash puts out far more light than the phone's LED and freezes even fast motion.
- Real xenon flash with guide number 15, TTL auto or manual power
- High-speed sync up to 1/8000 s – flash even in bright daylight
- Bi-colour LED ring 2800–6000 K, CRI and TLCI 96 or higher
- Magnetic on both sides: back to iPhone/metal, front for modifiers
Flash and continuous light in one
Xenon power instead of the phone LED
The xenon flash puts out a lot of light in a brief burst – enough to light cleanly and freeze motion even in a dark café or against the light. With high-speed sync a sunny background stays in the shot while the flash lifts your subject. Best results are within about 2 m.
LED ring for video
For video or even continuous light, switch on the LED ring: four fixed colour temperatures (2800, 3200, 4500, 5600 K) via the buttons, or continuous 2800–6000 K in the app. With CRI/TLCI from 96, colours render naturally. LED power: 3 W continuous, 18 W burst.
How this works in practice
Control via app and buttons
In A mode the Godox Camera app handles exposure automatically, with three flash effects (Natural, Even, Contrast). In M mode you set shutter speed, ISO and white balance yourself and choose TTL or manual power (1/1–1/128 in 1/3 steps, exposure compensation -3 to +3). Pairing is via NFC, then the connection runs over Bluetooth up to 15 m – even when the flash is away from the phone.
Magnetically mounted, flexibly shaped
The A2 sticks magnetically to the back of your iPhone, to metal or to a stand – so light can come from the side or above. The magnetic ring on the front takes the included dome diffuser or the modifiers from the Godox AK-R1 MINI Accessory Kit. With the optional PS01 phone mount, which rotates 360°, switching to selfies is easy.
What you should know before you order
For iPhone (iOS 18.0 or later)
The A2 is designed for iPhone 15 and newer and requires iOS 18.0 or later and the Godox Camera app. Android/HarmonyOS support is in development according to the manufacturer. Check your model and iOS version before buying.
Mind the range
As a compact smartphone flash the A2 is made for short distances – for best results within about 2 m of the subject.
