A clean sensor in one pass
The right width, no second wipe
At 20 mm the swab covers the full height of a APS-H sensor: drag one side firmly across the sensor, then come back with the clean side. The textured surface picks up the dirt instead of pushing it to the edge, and the end points reach into the corners.
Clean until you use it
Every swab is sealed in its own clean-room package, so you don't bring fresh dust onto the sensor, even after the box has ridden around in your bag for months.

Before an important job
Test shot against a blue sky at f/16, and the spots show. Two drops of Eclipse or Aeroclipse on the swab, one pass across the sensor, new test shot. You're ready in five minutes without sending the camera away for days.

Type 1 is designed for Canon EOS-1D Mark III and Mark IV (APS-H) and older pro Nikon DX bodies such as the D2X, D200 or D300.
What you should know before you order
Check the width
A swab that's too narrow leaves streaks, one that's too wide won't fit the sensor well. For most current APS-C cameras Type 2 (17 mm) is right, for full frame Type 3 (24 mm). If in doubt, check the Photographic Solutions swab chart.
Fluid sold separately, one swab per clean
The swabs come dry, so you also need Eclipse or the non-flammable Aeroclipse. Each swab is single-use. On cameras with a moving sensor (IBIS), switch to cleaning mode or lock the sensor first.

An ordinary blower pulls in surrounding air, dust and all, and fires it straight at your sensor. The Orbit works differently: incoming air passes through a filter, one-way valves at both ends stop dirt from flowing back, and the ionising silicone bulb helps loosen statically attached particles.
